ABSTRACT
The need for performance based and results oriented management in Uganda has resulted in changes in the approach of management of educational institutions.
With this development, strategic planning is fundamental in order to achieve this vital study will be to establish availability and the level of implementation of strategic plans in technical and vocational institutions in Uganda.
The study is a case study that will use a mixed method design of qualitative and quantitative technics. the target population will consist of Ministry of Education,Sports,Science and Technology officials, District Education officials, principals and senior instructors in the selected Technical and Vocational institutions. The sample population will be determined using Krejcie and Morgan table. Respondents in the study will be selected using purposive, proportionate and simple random sampling techniques. Instruments for data collection will be questionnaires and interview schedules. Data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics for example measures of central tendencies to establish relevant variebles.
