What does a physiotherapist do?
Physiotherapist specialise in treating physical problems, these problems could be caused by accidents, illness and ageing. These physical problems could affect the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiration and particularity the neuromuscular systems. Physiotherapists identify and maximise movement through health promotion, preventive healthcare, rehabitation and the right course of treatment. Physiotherapists treat people of all ages and from all sorts of different backgrounds.
The physiotherapist, Claire Short, who came into school said that “i work with mainly stroke patients, but physiotherapist can work in many different areas, from intensive care, were you have to help a patient keep breathing, to sport injuries were you help someone recover from an injury.”
