Vigilante Justice

Vigilante justice; is it good or bad?   Well in this essay I will be writing what the Bible, “Murder on the Orient Express“, and “Dutchman’s Flat” have to say on vigilante justice. Of course everybody has their own view of this situation, some people agree that vigilante justice is good and some say its bad. Lets see what the Bible has to say about this.
In the Bible what does it say about vengeance?   Here are two verses that state what the Bible thinks of it. First is Romans 12:19, “It is not our place to take revenge against those who offend or wrong us. Just as we are to leaving the act of judgment to God, we are also to leave it to God to redress wrongs.” and second is Matthew 5:38-39, “You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth. But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Basically what these verses are saying is that taking vengeance is bad. They are also saying that instead of taking vengeance on the person who did the wrong, you should love and forgive them.
Next I will be talking about the view of vigilante justice in “Murder on the Orient Express“. Now in the book a murder happens to a man who killed this little girl. Then in the end we find out that everyone on the train has something to do with that little girls family. We also find out that everyone on the train killed the man. Basically they had the idea that vigilante justice is good and the right thing to do. As the result of that choice they all could have went to jail. One reason that made this decision was that they all didn’t have enough evidence against the murdered man, therefore they could have killed an innocent man.
Last but not least is the view of vigilante justice in “Dutchman’s Flat”. In this story they hear of a back-shooter who killed there best friend. But at the end they find out that the back-shooter is innocent. They learned that vigilante justice is wrong...
