How torturous is the government of Arunachal Pradesh? It will award works to contractors but won’t pay the bill for the same for a year.
The part time contractors who have invested money in the contractual works under U.D are still not getting their bills. They have completed their works during this March. Until today, they do not have any idea about the bill. The work orders were issued last month.
Three Chief Ministers have changed since the start of the work under U.D. Not even single could pass the bill. Few contractors have taken money on interest at the rate of ten percent per month. It was hoped that the bill will be cleared after few weeks of completion of work. However, the contractors could not avail the bill until date. The interest is rising month by month. The amount is calculated to be more than the billing amount. Where from the extra money be paid to the private bankers?
If the department was out of fund/money, why the government awarded works to the contractors. Petty contractors have to sell off his/her property just to repay the loan amount. The contractors had undertaken the work hoping that he/she would be benefited by doing so. However, he/she is at loss in the end. If this is, the condition of the contractors then where the money meant such purpose go. Is money being misused? If so, who is doing it and if not why bills are not paid?
